# Where is my (re)certification date?
## What do these dates mean?
First, access the certification dates in your account by clicking on the "Purchases" tab located at the top of your screen, then click "Certifications" from the left menu.
**\*\*Note: the following information is used for illustrative purposes and may not reflect your personal record.\*\***
From here, you will see your certification(s), click "View" on the certification you would like to check.
Your dates will be displayed.
Join Date: This is the date you **earned** your designation.
Effective Date: This is the **start** date of your current 3-year renewal cycle.
Expire Date: This is the **end** date of your current 3-year renewal cycle, or your renewal date.
Grace period ends on: This is an in-house date and **should be ignored**.
**Your grace period extends to the end of the expiration year (December 31, 20XX.** For example, if your expire date is 7/31/2024, your grace period ends 12/31/2024. Note, the renewal fee increases incrementally after your expiration date. Your certification status will be "Expired" during the grace period and will change to "Lapsed" the following year.
